ECCE Business Academy Toolkit

Group of kindergarten kids friends holding hands playing at parkIn response to many requests for business supports from Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) site leaders and Ready Regions, VECF convened the Early Educator Finance and Compensation Task Force, a group of veteran ECCE site leaders, to help develop this training in collaboration with financial planning and resiliency experts, 20 Degrees. This means that the toolkit was designed and tested by ECCE providers for ECCE providers.

Purpose
Whether you're looking to increase teacher pay or strengthen your financial strategy for the coming year, the ECCE Business Academy toolkit will support improving your organization's financial health and sustainability and contribute to a resilient future for ECCE providers. 

Toolkits
The ECCE Business Academy Toolkit has been specifically designed for three provider types: family day homes, for-profit centers, and non-profit centers. To access the appropriate toolkit, please click on the links below. Each link directs you to a folder that contains the following materials in both English and Spanish:

  • Supporting Materials: We strongly encourage you to review the training and tutorial videos before using the tools.
    • Video recording of a Zoom training (English only)
    • Slides from the Zoom training
    • Comprehensive video tutorial 
  • Tools in both English and Spanish:
    • Excel Version (both Blank and Example versions)
      • For optimal use, please download the .xlsx file directly without converting it into a Google Sheet. 
    • Google Sheets Version (both Blank and Example versions)
      • This file cannot be edited until you make a local copy to your Google Drive. We HIGHLY encourage you NOT to download and use this version in Excel, as it will hinder functionality.
      • For a seamless experience, ensure you're logged into Google. Click on the respective link below to open the file. To copy the document to your 'My Drive', navigate to: "File" > "Make a Copy" > Select your desired location/folder > Click "Make a Copy."
